This video clip illustrates the dangers of static electricity while refueling a vehicle.  Going in and out of the vehicle allows a static charge to build up on the driver which discharged when she touched the gasoline nozzle.  Obviously, its also a bad idea to smoke or use your cellphone while refueling a vehicle
